Re: Technical Talk

Hey, Bluebirders... anyone live close enough to the Solent museum to go and get some techie shots of the Beryl engine there? With particular attention to the fuel control system and its linkages? That would be very useful to us.

Re: Tales from The Cockpit

its replacement was a sieve by comparison... It didn't latch back onto the seals and it was a poor fit and full of holes. Don't worry - by the time you take her out next we'll have sorted the vacuum gotcha and made a much tighter canopy. Great tales from the cockpit, by the way. Obviously I've hear...

Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

Looks and sounds great Al! Do you inhibit the engines for storage? Fantastic! I lways love to see old machines fired up and brought back to life - in case you didn't know that... Congratulations on getting a tune out of her and very well done. Those pesky folks at a certain aerospace giant who don'...

Re: Isle of Bute

All sounds good to me. We've learned some very interesting things about the boat's fuel plumbing this week. Can't wait to put that to rights and see what a difference that makes.

Re: Isle of Bute

We don't do temptation. We now know a great deal now and how to please the crowds whilst remaining nice and safe. Would be good to try out our fixes somewhere we know then maybe relocate to a longer course to train ourselves in comm's and safety boat procedure.

Re: Isle of Bute

Have you had ANYTHING at all from either party since we got back From Bute Bill ? All I've had, and it was second hand anyway, is that they were waiting on me to agree dates, except that they haven't proposed any. I did say to one of their Festival Coming Home Bluebird Heritage Committee, or whatev...

Re: Isle of Bute

Very, very tentative at the mo, but supposing that Coniston needs a little extra time to get things into place, how about we do another week on Bute next year with lots of extra activities, talks, a dinner or three, get the kids and parents along to get hands-on, do some properly planned display run...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

We had so much fun too. We'll be there wherever you put on a show next year and this time for longer, not just for 1 1/2 days. And if you lads like, we can bring some of the fast RC stuff as support act - even though they are [disgusted tone ON] yellow [disgusted tone OFF]. If so, then we come up w...
