Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

perhaps the last post is a little regrettable. The individual I think being referred to has done much to keep the Campbell/Bluebird dynasty in its entirety in the public eye, Sir Malcolm Campbell tends to be forgotten simply because a boat went backwards at over 300 mph attracting all the attention ...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Richie said the issue of ownership is nobody's business other than Bill, Gina and the Ruskin. With respect that is not correct. When dealing with public money be it used to build an annex for K7 or anything to do with the boat, it is the business of those who contributed in the believe that a certai...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

The question I posed in my original post. In simple language used by lawyers the question is 'who has legal title to K7 Bluebird' as opposed to any moral right of ownership. As soon as that is established once and for all anything else is pretty much irrelevant. The owners, ie those with 'legal titl...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Re the original post. It is not much of a surprise that the issue has arisen now. I have followed the Campbell/Bluebird story for close on 60 years, long before the kind of 'mass hysteria' generated by publicity in the last 18 years attracted people into it. During the last 18years there has been mu...

The good old days before health and safety

My latest creation; Aeromarine special circa 1950's. Speed 80mph.. No seat belt no protective canopy and driving kneeling down cos there's no seat!! Referred to as a 'kneeler' popular in the day. I put this on to demonstrate the stark difference between those days and the trouble Ken Warby had with ...

Re: Restore or leave this as it is

Thanks for replying Steve. Do you mean It's fixed under the hull or mounted on the transom left of the rudder post. Is it the same sort of set up as on K3. BTW I am building it as in it's original form 1939.

Cheers
Ernie

Re: Restore or leave this as it is

Thank you for the varied suggestions it gives Elaine and I some options to think about. Mounting it on a board seems a good idea maybe with all his medals.

BTW I forgot to ask, does anyone know exactly where the water pick up was on K4?

Re: Restore or leave this as it is

Novie. Thanks for your comments. I am in a good place at the moment thankfully black dog is asleep! I have started to make an other K4 Bluebird for my son. Spent a week designing and making scale running gear for it. Loads in the bin before I got it right. Getting back to the original message subjec...
