Re: Coniston Bye laws/Ruskin
The 'outgoing' Bye Law gave the dimensions of the course that the craft will travel on Coniston Water, which has not altered. If the whole process were straightforward, a crew training could be held this year in readiness for the Proving Trial of the completed craft (in the condition she was in on ...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back
Any news on what is happening with the legal proceedings and the museum? The museum, so far as it seems, is just persisting with its dog in a manger routine though they're down in numbers from fourteen last year to ten at present so maybe more will have the good sense to get off before the ship sin...

You've only been off the grid a month. How long does it take to choose a radiator by committee?Of course I am, did you think I’d been captured and handcuffed to a radiator in the museum or some such?
So where have you been? Testing submarines again?

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back
A bit late, but hope it has gone well. Thanks... It went about as well as these unfortunate happenings can go. Nothing big or exciting, just someone who thought he could wriggle out of a debt. He's got two months to pay up now, which he could have done months ago without being hit for the court fee...

Liking the little engines too - where do you get those?

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back
Sometimes these things go to the courtroom steps, before one side realises going in front of the court risks everything, then sense prevails and a deal is done. Had a couple of those. One lot took it to the brink then withdrew completely and I got 100% costs, and that never happens. Another one pus...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back
+1 for the legal profession. In my own experience (in product liability and corporate stuff) they are highly driven and really don’t like losing. Also they can also be very good deal makers if there is a clear understanding of objectives. It's not usual, I think, for people to have had much experie...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back
Here's hoping that the the potential costs & timescale, of up-coming legal action, might bring Ruskin & Co. back to reality....? Perhaps that a bit too much to hope for - but it would be best for all concerning.... IMHO.... :( What I find more intriguing is how declining fish and chips and ...
