Re: Quicksilver

As a follow-up to the Quicksilver update, the Wikipedia WSR page has some interesting news at the foot of the page which suggests the Quicksilver Project may be in more trouble than previously realised: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_speed_record I am not sure whether Wikipedia has validated the...

Re: Fred's K7 Poster/Bluebird Art Discussion

[quote="Renegadenemo"]Also, in the original painting the blue of the small piece of wreckage (actually the tip of the nose with the crossed flags) is made of genuine K7 paint that we ground into a fine powder and Arthur worked into the painting. See below a detail shot of the nose wreckage...

Crikey, an update! :o http://www.quicksilver-wsr.com//sys_upl/templates/PT_EasyPageNewsS/PT_EasyPageNewsS_news.asp?pageid=3102&pgid=1242&tid=170 The updates are encouraging but the complete absence of any photograhic material in the last 14 months of updates is unfortunate. I would love to ...

Re: New K7 Poster

Mike I agree that, in common with many paintings, artistic licence has been used in this picture. Total accuracy need not be the primary aim when composing a painting and in my view leaving out the boatshed probably improves the image. As a life-long visitor to the area, I could also point out many ...

Re: New K7 Poster

Fred I have just received my signed "Three Cheers" print and am absolutely delighted to be the very proud owner of signed print number 1 of 25. The painting is just amazing, possessing a near 3-D quality and the composition, detail and colour are just fantastic. I spent a long time gazing ...

Re: The Last run....

Keith Many thanks for your analysis and related thoughts. On balance, it seems highly probable that the water brake was either deployed by Donald at a time too late to be effective (i.e. he was airborne before it extended fully) or he deployed it in time but its effect was reduced by intermittent im...

Re: The Last run....

Just found a still in my collection showing the possible plume of spray from the water brake going down. I doubt we will ever be able to establish the point at which Donald applied the water brake (assuming as Bill Smith observed that it did not self-deploy at some stage after the accident). Howeve...

Re: Bluebird Project You Tube Channel

We've a new video up on our YT channel, another little tone piece that I threw together. Hope you all like it! 8-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86pM-v9DTRc Mike, that is a really great video and (as has already been observed) very appropriate music. I think it's a wonderfully atmospheric pictoria...

Keith

With an SSF of >0.1 and on a day with a Y in it, if you stir the solution too vigorously you will create an Infinite Improbability Drive - so beware :D (With apologies to Douglas Adams.....)
