Happy Birthday to Me...

Post by StewDurham »

Well that was an unexpected Birthday present - just when I was starting to feel guilty about the amount of Bluebird (cars and boat) pics around here, my good lady surprises me with a copy of Patience. I was never sure about any prints of the big tin thing in it's resting state, but this is such an beautifully painted evocative picture, and already talking point in the Smiths household.

Also want to thank you for the other surprise birthday present I received today... Seems my little Susie is a right plotter of surprises nowadays, but that was fabulous, and very much appreciated. I'm still grinning like a type III idiot.

Regards.
Stew.

Good luck to the BBP team, makes me proud to be British (and a North-easterner to boot!). Damn fine work, chaps!

It was, you know. And it still is (here's tempting fate) on its original bulb, though these days I use it to wander down the garden to see what the foxes have killed this time! The true inaccuracy in that painting is the underwater visibility that just wasn't. Technically the composition is perfect and a lot of work went into making it so but we never saw it so clearly except via sonar.

Great to meet you at last, Stew, and happy birthday.
