Re: Pic of the Day
Ha! no you can't. You were still censored so 'phags' it remains. Isn't the other spelling supposedly insulting to those of an other than straight marital orientation? Maybe that's why it's banned.

'The recovered parts will next be glued and riveted using fresh rivets in newly drilled holes on the jig we've lifted from the lower frame tubes.'
Am intrigued as to know what glue you use in this 'metal-to-metal' context?

We call the Airbus choccie sauce 'glue'. It sticks like poo to the bedclothes and seems to hold Airbuses together. As it happens I've used epoxy to glue aluminium before but it's really tricky to get right. You have to mix some epoxy with acetone then use a stainless wire brush to scrub the mating faces to remove the oxide film before slapping on the epoxy and joining everything together before the acetone can flash off. It's like metalwork whilst glue-sniffing.

So that's how you epoxy Ali' together - very interesting! All the methods I've known have failed miserably but never tried that one.
As memory serves there was a method used in the aircraft industry during the 50's called 'Redux'. I believe it was used in conjunction with rivets around the DH Comet windows - yes the bit that failed, but not due to the glue! It was a beggar to get right, too, but don't know what it constituted of.
